Battery type and location

i need to fit a battery to the rear rack. As you can see from the link the bike has very high bottle mounting points. https://www.marinbikes.com/gb/bike-archive/bikes/2017-stinson-step-thru

Would it be crazy to try and mount a bottle battery to the rear rack? I would like the battery to be easily removable, the bottle batteries seem so much cheaper. It’s going to be used with a front hub motor.

You can add a rivnut to that down tube to mount a battery there. They're easy to fit and don't cost much.

People do mount frame batteries on racks, but somehow they don't look right. A rack battery would be better. If you do fit one on a rack, it needs to be as close as possible to the seat-post and as low as possible. Standard racks tend to hold the battery too far back, so choose your rack carefully.
