bbs02b motor only?

Hi,

Does anyone know any retailers/repairers who sell bare bafang bbs02b motors - just the motor, not a kit? either new or refurbed?

I've just opened mine up to try and figure out if the stator, rotor or controller is causing the my problem - I think it's the controller, but the stator housing seals have gone and there is some corrosion inside.

So time for a new motor I think!

There weren't any extra charges other than for postage when I bought my contoller from Greenbikekit, but I suppose a hulking great motor is harder for plane passengers to smuggle down their trousers, or whatever it is they do to avoid customs.

I've only ever seen one used Bafang motor kit on ebay in four years.

I've just spotted that you can only get the CAN-BUS version of the BBS02 motor now. These seem to have a different connector for the peripherals (speed sensor, display, etc). This means that I should probably just go with a whole new kit.

I'm tempted to go for a Tongsheng TSDZ8 instead. It has the same connectors as my existing display and I'd get the upgrade of the torque sensor.

UART BBSXX(X) kits are singing a faint swan song, as stock dwindles. None of the sales people I've asked so far know if UART controllers (Bafang will be producing spares for some unspecified length of time) are compatible with CAN bus versions of those motors.
