Yesterday we sold the very first ANSMANN RT 35 PLUS to come to the UK to a very nice man from MK;)

It arrived direct from Germany on Wednesday and I have to say it is a very pretty and beautifully made bike which my photos don't do justice.

It was not originally planned to bring this particular model to the UK, but the customer wanted one so we made it happen and the RT 35 will now be part of the ANSMANN UK range:D

John to be honest with you, that is a cracking looking bike I like that kind of style. What is the price range like?
Again NICE bike.

I went to paris cycle show last week and I've seen many bikes with Direct drive motor.

I can't see the value of direct drive over geared on low powered bikes.

They have drag and are less efficient during acceleration. But I've seen many constructor with these DD motors.

I understand they have regen (but it's really low average 5% back) and are maintenance free. But for low power I would prefer to have freewheel and better acceleration.

Do you know why this choice over geared ones?

Any particular reason for the battery to be on the rack, John?

IMHO it would be a nicer balanced bike with one in the triangle.

We'll have a busy time at Redbridge trying all these new bikes. It's becoming impossible to choose these days.

Cable routing is untidy for a £2K+ bike.

Hi Rob,

The RT 35 PLUS has less cabling than most, there is wireless communication from the handlebar console to the speed sensor and the motor.

Even less of an excuse for the loopy mess under the handlebars.

Compare with this £725 Woosh - which has more cables:

The Sirocco Sport-TS | Electric Bikes from Woosh
I don't like strapped together cables, bowden cables run much more freely when the curves are left to take form naturally. The whole essence of a bicycle has always been function over form, the form derived from best function having an aesthetic beauty of it's own.

"If it is right, it looks right" is the opposite way of expressing the old engineering adage, "If it looks right, it is right".

Looks nice, but seems on the expensive side for what it is. I think it would be a great bike in the £1500-1800 range.

Don't forget, even the Storck Raddar managed to get voted "Ebike of the year", so plenty of hope for that one, John.

Hi Streethawk,

I suppose that depends on what you are comparing it too, bikes with Go-swissdrive don't come cheap ;)
