Please could we continue the discussion re BEBA here as this is off thread re the E4 discussion?
Looks like the discussion has ground to a halt David but if I may and going off at a tangent somewhat, If Mr Elderfield is about to offer some modern european-styled crank-driven bikes, can't you dip your toe in the water and offer him a little competition? I just have a feeling you might sell more than Kudos! Eddieo might even wait a little before buying another bike to see what you can come up with and I'm a potential customer for that kind of bike.

Indalo, this hads been discusssed before and wisper have, or had at the time decided to stick with hub motor bikes as this is what they are good at.

I will say the Swiss drive motors are becoming very popular in Germany and these maybe worth David looking at.....

stork use a 26 v version. while the like s of Bulls green and others in germany use a 36v. different size batteries from 10 - 18ah and above...but wisper batteries would work just as well I am sure...

Anyway, David has been very quiet of late on here, probably working on some dastardly new bike under the covers....

Hi Eddie and Indalo, yes I have been under the cosh lately but mainly with European dealers coming on board. We are working hard in a new model at the moment and I must admit to still being very keen on hub drives. I tested the Panasonic on a specially built Wisper 905 a few years ago and was seriously underwhelmed, however things have come on a long way since then and maybe it's time to reconsider a crank drive bike. The problem is which drive, there are so many to choose from?

All the best

Are there? we get to see so few..so what is out there? Panasonic as you rightly say underwhelming, Bosch much better..other than that there is a Pacific drive, but that fell out of favour when Bosch came along, and I know there are a few Chinese ones but know nothing about them....

Underestimating Eddie!

Panasonic, Yamaha, Daum, Bosch, Kalkhoff Impulse, Pacific Cycles, the bevel drive in the Tonaro et al, a new Chinese one that's in a Saneagle bike, and the forthcoming Suzhou Bafang. That's eight going to nine shortly.

And there's at least three kit crank motors currently available.

Trying to forget the tour of India problems with a curry! Slightly misguided methinks! ;)

Never mind, the drinks should do the trick.

Can't blame Gepida, the Yamaha unit wasn't capturing much interest, but going to Bosch sure gives them some fierce competition.

The conundrum is of course Eddie is whether to gravitate to the Boch system and go head to head with 100's of electric bikes where the only difference is the bicycle it's self....... or stick to what we know and advance the hub drive system....... Although of course there are 100's of hub drive models out there too. It is truly difficult to know in which direction to go. And of course if we do something really innovative how long before we are copied???

If it was easy, everyone would do it!

All the best

Just a quick update on the C4 road show for anyone who maybe interested! The four days went very well with a steady stream of both existing and potential dealers. We will certainly be running the same series of events next year.

We are now planning the come and try days and will be at both the East of England E-bike Fair and the Bristol event plus at least two others. As and when the dates are confirmed I will post here.

All the best

David
