Hi Fellows. I'm Rob. Beginner in ebike building because I neva did any yet.
Almost bought an escooter but I don't want to stuck in a hill without any chance to get home. Ebike is way more practical if the electronic dies.

I decided to build an ebike with a little £500 budget. I hope I can make it successfully.
Need a bike for commuting on a little hills.

Don't be tempted by the very cheap high power direct drive hub kits on ebay. They look temptingly cheap and powerful, but can only deliver that power for (illegal) speed and not when most people need it most, on the hills. Also they are very inefficient so you need a big expensive battery, and don't save money overall.
