Yes...... the Treks with BioniX power and throttle come in different frame sizes. Actually not sure if they come with throttle but pretty sure they can be retro fitted and just a plug in job I thinkRustic please check your PM
There are differences between years but I had one of the first and most problems were minor, the only big one I had was needing to get the rear wheel rebuilt with a stronger rim. Wisper were looking at replacing the rims but I don't know if or when this happened. The stem changed and became non adjustable and the rubbish polycarbonate chain guard was changed to Aluminum. Thanks all for the suggestions. I think I might take a closer look at the 906 Alpino, I had discounted this on paper thinking it would be too small, but maybe a test ride is the only way to judge this for sure.
Not sure about the availability of these bikes though. Are there significant differences between the 2011 & 2012 versions? Ebikesdirect has the 2011 version in stock but is showing as out of stock for the (presumably) current model.
Any light that can be shed would be appreciated......
The reason I say seat tube length is not very relevant is because I put a 905 and 906 side by side, same length seat tube but the 906 frame was about 10cm longer. For anyone else who has a difficulty in this area, here is a frame sizing guide from Evans Cycles applicable for all different types of bikes:
Bike Sizing | Help | Evans Cycles
As a matter of interest, the guide recommends a frame size of 23"-25" for someone 6'5" in height. I would seriously question the suitability of anything smaller, after all, surely riding the wrong size bike would potentially inflict damage to knees etc..., I look forward to a time when a good selection of models are available in a wide range of frame sizes, but fear I may have to wait for quite some time yet...
