You only have one choice, that's why i picked the bike i bought. Your only choice is the Trek Fx which goes all the way up to 25" frame, I'm 6ft 4" and find the bike perfect, but had to reduce the stem length as i have long legs shorter body.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I think I might take a closer look at the 906 Alpino, I had discounted this on paper thinking it would be too small, but maybe a test ride is the only way to judge this for sure.

Not sure about the availability of these bikes though. Are there significant differences between the 2011 & 2012 versions? Ebikesdirect has the 2011 version in stock but is showing as out of stock for the (presumably) current model.

Any light that can be shed would be appreciated......
There are differences between years but I had one of the first and most problems were minor, the only big one I had was needing to get the rear wheel rebuilt with a stronger rim. Wisper were looking at replacing the rims but I don't know if or when this happened. The stem changed and became non adjustable and the rubbish polycarbonate chain guard was changed to Aluminum.
For anyone else who has a difficulty in this area, here is a frame sizing guide from Evans Cycles applicable for all different types of bikes:

Bike Sizing | Help | Evans Cycles

As a matter of interest, the guide recommends a frame size of 23"-25" for someone 6'5" in height. I would seriously question the suitability of anything smaller, after all, surely riding the wrong size bike would potentially inflict damage to knees etc..., I look forward to a time when a good selection of models are available in a wide range of frame sizes, but fear I may have to wait for quite some time yet...
The reason I say seat tube length is not very relevant is because I put a 905 and 906 side by side, same length seat tube but the 906 frame was about 10cm longer.
People with long legs can just fit a longer seat post but people with long torsos need the extra reach to the bars.

Thanks Andrew,

The wheels have been changed to Eyletted Alex rims on both the 2011 and 2012 models we have had one problem which we are still investigating but all the rest have been amazing, absolutely no issues.

The 2011 and 2012 carry the Wisper aluminium chain guard.

There have been some changes in the controller but nothing more of any significance between 2011 and 2012.

Best regards

David

Being 6'6" tall with an unstable back, I have previously used an "off the peg" ebikes, but for the last couple of years I have been on a full suspension Santa Cruz Superlight XL, with an Ezee rear kit, and would never go back.
I use my bike for a 15mile each way a daily commute, and having a bike with the full suspension that is comfirtable as much as the motor, makes the journey into London a pleasure, with one charger in the office and the other at home, I beat the cars and tube on the same journey by 15mins each way.

I would recommend finding a full suspension bike that fits, and then adding the beans to it...

Pete.
