Check with your rights of way officer, some farmers are bullies. One tried to run us off the road on a green way and council recommended cycle route, so I grassed on him. Turns out others had bother too, so they were taking him in hand.

My rides are mainly for shopping trips and leisure in Milton Keynes and around North Buckinghamshire with occasional forays into Northamptonshire and further afield to places like Rutland Water etc.

Milton Keynes is well served with traffic free cycle routes known locally as red routes and also the Grand Union canal towpaths.

Hi Zebb,

I fitted an 8fun kit to a mtb i bought on ebay especially for the purpose, as I had a disappointing experience with a purpose-made ebike & wasn't sure I'd use it... But it's the best thing since sliced bread!

I ride about 70/30 on road/trails, but a lot of the roads have grass down the middle  I try to incorporate the local bike trails into rides, using them to access areas of interest.

We are on holiday on Exmoor this week & it's obvious that my hub-motor is not terribly suitable for this terrain - LOTS of 1:4 hills, both on & off-road :p so I'm intending to seek the advice of those that have fitted one & bung a crank-drive kit on the full-susser I recently bought for one of my daughters to ride.
Problem with that will be getting her backside off it once she knows it has a motor!

I thoroughly enjoy my road & trail riding, but am really getting keen to do a bit of singletrack too.

BTW, I'm 63, going on 14, according to SWMBO

My rides are road only going 30-50 mile round trips from blackburn, sometimes to blackpool, lancaster and around the ribble valley/trough of bowland near clitheroe. A lap of pendle hill is a nice 37 miles with 3300 ft of climbing and 25% gradiants. What did we do before electric bikes ? What a Godsend !
