hi all, my 36v 10ah battery is nearly done now on my alien aurora after about 16 months.I don't know now whether to have the hassle free and just order another from alien ocean -£350 or order a 36v 15 ah from BMS china, £216 including delivery, but could get stung at customs, so don't know what final cost would be.Also i know a few members bought these batteries a while back, and i am just wondering how they are performing now.

Yep, I was going to suggest Dave@Kudos as well....my GSII is in need of battery replacement and Kudos seems to be a good bet. Will probably have to order the rack as well.

thank's for reply folks.I would say that riding the bike economically I was getting about 30 miles on eco mode which is not bad for 350watt motor. The battery is about 16 months old now, and is cutting out under load constantly in fact it is quite dead now. I was thinking about kudos batteries as well, I suppose they would supply connector to match battery, and I think you would need some soldering skills?

Do you know what the specs are for this battery (safe discharge rate, weight etc) there are none on the site. I'm thinking to go over to Lifepo4 for my new project as my existing battery is also tiring a little.

I did a search recently looking for carriers that have charged the import duty and vat and UPS, DHL and Fedex were the ones I saw mentioned. It still leaves a few options to try but depending on what you order some of the carriers disappear as options.

Import duty/VAT seems to be a lottery no matter who you use!

I just take the view you win some you lose some. Its still a a shock when you do get charged though

The £8 admin fee some charge is a pain, especially if your item just exceeds the duty level.

In this case I still think the battery from Kudos is the best bet.
