My 10Ah 36V bottle battery, bought off ebay from Eddie Kehoe at the Electric transport Shop, arrived today just two weeks after buying it. (Cock up in the warehouse apparently).

Can anyone possibly tell me: There is a round four pin socket on the bottom pressumably the power out to the controller, and a small rubber covered socket on the side at the base - would that be the charging socket ? It looks like a small female jack plug is required - can anyone confirm that or tell me the possible size or polarity. It is nothing like the plug on my charger so I will have to make a up an adapter which I expected anyway. If that is not the charging point does anyone know what it might be ?

Also the main power out port - anyone know wher I can get the plug or the correct pin connections? Possilby Maplins I suspect.

Ooooh I am feeling thick!

Thanks in anticipation........

Probably a dumb question but why not ask the supplier?

Seems to be a common theme on here these days to ask here first which makes no sense to me

Maybe the suppliers are hoping that, so we do the job for them ;)

Its a fair point though. Did they know that you were using the battery in a different application ?

The one under the flap sounds like the charge socket. Usually 2 pin or should I say a center pin (usually positive) and outer ring usually negative.

The actual power out is probably a din type socket. Both as you say usually available in maplins.. Pics would help, but I agree speak to the suppliers.

Regards

Jerry

Could be Alfazzar doesn't want to wait until the shop is open.
Gerry is probably correct regarding the connections, but posting the make and model of the battery might invite someone to confirm.

It was just advertised as old stock on ebay so they knew I was not buying it for any model in particular as it did not state what it was from originally. They did offer a charger when I asked but at £50 I declined. The battery only arrived today so I found it on my return from work and it is not the connection I was anticipating so I have emailed the supplier as well. However I was just hoping for some positive advice ('scuse the pun) so I can go to Maplins for plugs tomorrow lunchtime (and I do not expect to hear back from the supplier tonight).

cheers.

I will have the same problem again soon as I also got a flat (shape not charge) 36V 10 Ah from them at the same time but they did say that was a 'phono' type plug - that battery has not arrived yet. I was expecting this one to be XLR.

My wheel kit (bought off this forum) just has spade terminals for the battery connection so they will have to be replaced.

Thanks for your comments, and I will try and get some pictures.

Hi Just opened one up there are 4 pins 2 linked together for positive 2 linked together for negative this to handle the power I would undo the 3 screws in the bottom you will see the colours yes the plug is available from maplins Be careful when you reassemble there is a thin gasket

The charging plug is positive centre also from maplins

Great, thanks Frank. Pictures attached anyway now that I have them. I don't know the make or type other than LiFePO4 10Ah 36V.
