Our new wiper 705SE is suffering from very noisy front brakes. have only had bike a few weeks and thought it would go away in time but it has not. I scared a blind person crossing the road 2 days ago and sick of people looking at me when I come to a stop.

My neighbour a keen cyclist had a look at them last night, and adjusted them with allen keys using a bit of cardboard, toe in etc ...He did comment that he was unsure why they had used ceramic pads. Anyway, today went out and still the same...any ideas please as this is spoiling an otherwise excellent bike

the rear ones are fine......

Try cleaning the rim walls with a cloth dipped in solvent to get them thouroughly clean. If that lifts off lots of contamination and produces a slight improvement, you may need to replace the pads as well, since they will have absorbed the contamination which cannot be cleaned off from them.

Thanks Flecc, could I use some GT85 which I have, or can you recommend something more appropriate.

I think that GT85 which wouldn't be ideal, though I couldd be wrong.

Normally I'd use any one of iso-propyl alcohol, meths, petrol, white spirit, in that order of preference. None of them on the pads though.

Just noticed I've passed 13,000 posts!

Thanks Flecc, yes that did it, a couple of goes with surgical spirits and a lot of black deposit was removed.

The thing is, I am now so stealthy I nearly ran over a couple today:)

That's great Eddie, it usually does the trick. Seems like you now need to invest in an Airzound horn.

After you sound one of those, you only run over the skin they've jumped out of with shock! :D
