Some supremely hollow words:

The UK foreign secretary, Dominic Raab, said: “We welcome the removal of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s ankle tag, but Iran’s continued treatment of her is intolerable. She must be allowed to return to the UK as soon as possible to be reunited with her family.”
..indeed while Ms Begum, is still in UK approved detention.

We can see France from Dover, its reckoned our uptake is approaching 100% in some age groups... How come perceptions of vaccination are so different?
Pasteur would be turning in his grave?

Was he an officer or one of the crew on the Atlantic Conveyor?

Nope!. He was the most junior ships officer ..3rd or 4th. on an oil tanker in the Persian Gulf. He was required to be walking the decks while the more senior guys were on the bridge. He sees a bright light heading towards him and it goes ,40 ft above his head. It is directed at the bridge,..which is where the command centre is in a destroyer.. well the missile zooms through the thin metal , under the floor level of the bridge, ,out through the other side and eventually explodes safely over water. .. A destroyer will have much thicker armour and the explosion will be inside the command centre.
Unfortunately the shock wave of the transit killed everyone on the bridge and destroyed all the equipment., So he was tasked in taking a crippled tanker across the Gulf...which he did.

Time for a smile
This is a real headline, not photoshopped

They should have let her have a "Dummy Run" Strongarming the EU first if she's that good!

And here is a spoof headline from a site that examines the probable History of the Express
1066 and all That
After some initial reluctance, Rothermere Rothermereson decided that the Normans offered a fine alternative to the Danelaw. He became a firm admirer of William the Bastard’s aristocratic approach and his ruthless, and frequently terminal, oppression of the peasantry. By the time that William arrived in Hastings, the Daily Express was firmly committed to the cause.

The man who was soon to become King William was, indeed, highly privileged. It would be another eight and a half centuries before the Express got quite so firmly behind a foreign leader with plans to invade the British Isles. :D

Even the publication’s most ardent readers found it hard to keep a straight face and the Express made a solemn vow to never address the subject of science again. Nearly 500 years on, the paper is yet to break this promise.

How about this?

Since its conception, the headline has appeared in over 27,000 editions of the Express and has been applied to all manner of things including the abolition of slavery; the introduction of universal suffrage and the first appearance of a woman on Coronation Street.

Join us next time as The Daily Express paves the way for the Age of Enlightenment.

Steady as she goes!

Most of us don't know we are born. Imagine having that as a work day experience. Take my cap off to so many folk. Don't think I could do it...
Knew a chap who was in army during Irish troubles. He was in a "soft" people carrier.
RPG round came in at head height between him and his mates head (both sat in Back) and out other side but blew up a post office.
Nobody hurt... They just carried on regardless. Said he was glad they were in a "soft" vehicle. Be dead otherwise.

Absolutely, you are merely exercising your right of choice in a sensibly judged and entirely valid manner.

It's unfortunate that you will inevitably get lumped in with the refusniks like POLLY who insist that Covid-19 doesn't exist. I don't see any solution to that in a world where too much is judged in crude newspaper headline terms.

Welcome back in anyway, its good to hear from you again.

Covid-19 doesn't exist.

pity to waste those old army barracks :D
They aren't being wasted - they are being used to demonstrate to the world how the UK treats refugees. Put them into Napier, they're bound to get Covid-19 and really, really suffer.

BTW Pembrokeshire council has put a bill into the Home Office for excess costs due to their similar use of Penally. Over £80,000.
