I don't think Omicron is weaker, just that we are better prepared to face it, resulting in milder symptoms and fewer hospitalisations.
The main danger is the number of NHS workers told to stay at home and self isolate.

Ofcourse there is. Boris... All he did was walk into his garden with a bottle of wine and some Camembert and there were all these Dickhead’s milling about drinking( their own) wine... He socially distanced from them all asking Carrie WTF this lot doing on my lawn.
"And Feck me 2 years later Starmer is calling me a liar over it."
Boris is utterly trust worthy.. He says so.
Actually, I agree with flecc...
End of day he sat in his own garden and drank some wine and ate some cheese with a set of folk rest of world wouldn't want to even speak to. I, m fairly sure if folk were a little more astute they could find far worse about him..

65% now think that he is not fit for the office.
Don't forget he won big previously because voters would not trust his opponent with the economy. That situation has changed with KS.

Perhaps Soundwave is way infront of everybody.
In case link isn't working, basically researchers are saying Cannabis can prevent covid infection.
I think that Soundwave should replace Boris he can stand on the following policies
Free weed and no criminal sanctions for smokers
Free porn mags and crisps
£600 hand outs per week for anyone who can't be bothered to work
Scrap all speed restrictions on pedelecs

He would win the next election with a landslide. In all fairness to SW if he or Boris wanted to borrow £50 off me on a night out I would loan it to SW any day of the week knowing I would get it back when he could afford it. I wouldn't give Boris the time of day as he is totally untrustworthy, and the chances of me ever seeing that £50 again would be zero.

Maybe. I'd like to think that I wouldn't, but who knows until we are in that privileged situation.

It does seem to be the case that every person Boris Johnson touches is left diminished in some way, corrupted themselves even. Every project or institution he involves himself with turns to soil.

If handed privilege, I don't think I'd end up like Boris Johnson.
Nor I, the Bells never liked to take advantage of their elevated and privileged place in society.
Some might say of course that this elevation was usually by the neck from a handy tree branch, effectively putting a stopper on their usual social interaction with the public,
( in well meaning attempts to improve the distribution of wealth more equitably.)

Now Prince Andrew has had his appeal to dismiss the childfucking case against him, thrown out. I can’t see him having any trouble defending himself. He’s never met the woman, he can’t sweat and he was eating a stuffed crust with all the trimmings when he was supposedly shafting her.

Is there anyone left in public life who has a scintilla of integrity and commands any admiration or respect? It seems like the entire country is rotten at the moment.

I've previously posted the same more than once, it is a witch hunt.

I'm going even further in saying he shouldn't resign and the complaints should stop.

He was selected to be lead by people who knew full well that he was a liar with a long history of incompetence. Then the whole country chose him to lead the next government with a huge majority, while also knowing his history of incompetence and lying.

So what has happened is only to be expected and the guilty are the electorate who put him where he is, not Johnson himself. Boris Johnson staying in office is precisely the punishment the electorate deserve for their own incompetence and stupidity.

That might teach them to choose more intelligently next time.
.
There isn't much chance of the electorate applying intelligence to just about anything!

Did you watch how BJ apologised in the HoC and for what?
He commented that although he was there, people should see that he did not break any Covid rules.
Zlatan may find it's OK that BJ shared a drink with his staff but at the time, I am not the only one who could not go see my family because of Covid rules and I was not even one of those who have lost someone to covid. It's no wonder that I found his behaviour reprehensible.
He did break Covid rules at the time and is still trying to deny it.

There is a smell about this latest party affair.

Johnson has obviously managed to muster some support from cabinet members and a few others. But much of it appears a reluctant sort of support. When they are contrasting providing tepid support against outright condemnation.

Every single one of those who support him now will be damaged, possibly severely, if the next revelation shows even more bad judgement, poor behaviour, lying.

Am expecting something more - soon. Simply because the drip drip feed is damaging the entire tory party and currently that appears to be part of the aim.

I agree with the first part, conservative membership chose him over JH knowing who BJ was. On the second part, I disagreed. Millions of voters believed that JC would have hit their purse hard, so the choice was straightforward between a Marxist socialist and low tax conservative in addition to those voting on the brexit line. Had Ed Miliband not been replaced, BJ may not have won or won that many seats.
Corbyn/McDonald's economic plan was a very very long way from Marxist. 18 million hypocritical idiots voted for boris to kick the by now very large social care (and under investment in all departments under austerity) can into the next generation of taxpayers' hands - while trying to cling to unrealistically low taxes. So they knowingly voted for a populist idiot who made promises he never intended to keep.

we will never know in our lifetime what Corbyn/McDonald's economic plan would turn out to be.
Covid has indeed inflicted 20% GDP extra national debt, so the idea of borrow to invest large amounts of money would not go down well with the majority of taxpayers.
I don't think BJ would have stolen their ideas. BJ was making promises to gain people's approval when he needs it but he's not particularly prepared to deliver so if he seems to borrow a policy from JC (I can't think of one, but just for the sake of argument, assume that there are), he would not have followed it, Sunak would not let him have the money.
