net annual EU immigration was 174,000 before the referendum, 74,000 last 12 months, down 100,000 because their take home in Euros is 15% less. If we have a no deal brexit, the Pound will drop to parity with the Euro, we'll probably stop EU immigration altogether.
That may be what you want but our food will be about 10% dearer within 2 years.
I am stockpiling all Euro and US dollar sourced product especially US suppliers who source from Asia....the Trump 25% tariffs are already having an effect on Asian product en shipped to the U.K.

If we bring corporation tax down to 10% and throw out grants to the Chinese, they may use our own money to buy up cheap trading businesses in the U.K.,hehe.
KudosDave
why would we give grants to the Chinese. We should not be sending any money abroad after Brexit. All aid should be stopped while we get sorted out, but I don't suppose our leaders will do that. We will just keep borrowing money to give it to countries with their own space programmes

If we go into WTO it will be a lot dearer than 10%,meat and butter could become very expensive.

But if the EU is so much better at setting food prices why is Ireland nearly three times more expensive in almost every product on their shelves and service industry?

This just in from Jeremy Hunt:

"The UK will “flourish and prosper” even if it walks away from the EU without a deal, Jeremy Hunt has insisted. In an interview with The Telegraph, the Foreign Secretary says that while a no-deal Brexit would cause disruption, the country has faced much bigger challenges in its history."
Hunt is an idiot.
How long does he think we can hold the 'no deal' position?
I reckon 6 months.
because when we give up the 'no deal' position, we will have to ratify the withdrawal treaty, pay the divorce bill and sort out NI border.

The Chinese are ready to buy trading companies if they are given grants so that under financed companies can continue to offer employment, but these businesses will be satellites of the parent manufacturing businesses located in China. You only have to look at JLR (Tata,India),Nissan and Honda (Japan).

So. So what? So a lot of our exporters are having a field day at the moment. Winners and losers. They'll start buying sterling again once they think they can make a profit. Don't wait too long boys.
The so what is that the cost of raw materials ,and those items you cannot produce at home, goes up. Those straight bananas are now more expensive. The gas you import from Russia is more expensive

On the beeb they said that David Liddington is talking to leading Labour Remainers about a second referendum,am I correct that Liddington is effectively Theresa May’s deputy in her absence.
Yet Theresa May is criticising Tony Blair about questioning the direction of the PM,if we are democrats he is entitled to say what he thinks.
Looks like Theresa May has lost it.

Profit is good. It's what drives people to produce stuff other people are willing to pay for.

See.

My Mum is right.
Hilarious! Jeremy Hunt has insisted has he? well, there must be some idiot somewhere who believes him.
The Country doesn't need disruption or challenges just to justify the Brexit mistake.
The country was promised there wouldn't be any.. "No downsides only considerable upsides" was the claim, so why are you coming out with "Project Fear" now?
Wasn't that what the remain side was supposed to be doing and now you are?
And as to profits, those made by speculators like Mogg profit only themselves and end up in offshore bank accounts., in no way do the "Drive stuff that other people are willing to pay for."

See?

Opinion in the Telegraph
I'm beginning to think Brexit won't happen. This will destroy democracy as we know it

Daniel Hannan

Democracy as we know it was destroyed when the leave campaign used technology and dark funding to rig the Referendum

And another weird opinion
"Janet DaleyTeam Remain’s dark arts in the corridors of Brussels are paying off

It appears the standard arguing technique of alleging the "other side" uses techniques your side have been prosecuted for is still being employed by Leave politicians

Times are getting hard for the Express if they have to print tropes like this
"BREXIT FURY: May rages at Remainer Blair 'second referendum is INSULT to British people'

How is asking someone to give an opinion on something they they have been sold under false pretenses ,that no way resembles what was promised ,an insult?

When 67% of the population didn't vote for Brexit and plenty will have come to their senses another chance to vote on Brexit should be their right.

And the Daily Mail carry this

Brexiteers know how to make a total fool of yourself, and here is an expert at doing so, caught in the act
David Vance here literally suggesting we turn off Ireland's gas.

And of course ignoring the stupidity of even mentioning this possibility he fell into the trap that catches Brexit politicians every time.
He got his facts wrong

From Ireland 2050
Where does Ireland’s gas come from and what determines its price?
For the first time since the late 1990’s we are in a position to meet 58% of our gas needs from indigenous resources at Corrib and Kinsale.

Just another Brexit liar

And he really needs to do a bit of research and find out where we get ours!

We actually produce a smaller percentage of gas than Ireland does!

The gullible fools and the despicable people who voted leave in the 2016 referendum for all the worst reasons imaginable would have it today that democracy ended after that tiny majority vote in an advisory poll.

It seems they simply want to have their way regardless of the real-world consequences in spite of the fact that there is now a massive cross-section body of opinion calling for a further and final vote, both inside parliament and in the country at large.
What's the problem with that? The idiots have had two years + to come up with a rational explanation and description of how the British people will benefit by secession from the EU but they have failed miserably to provide any such assurance.

It has become patently obvious in the derisory contributions from the small band of 'Leave' adherents in this thread, (perfectly reflecting the minority of the British people still holding firm on pro-'Brexit' propaganda), that they have nothing, absolutely nothing, which might sway anyone to believe 'Brexit' will deliver anything good for the people of the UK. Those individuals here have instead simply taken to trolling the thread instead of any further effort at convincing readers here that 'Brexit' is worth pursuing.

Those people still hell-bent on bringing the biggest peacetime disaster ever upon the British people for all the wrong motives are terrified that they might now not get their way and that is why they are running scared of a further referendum.

With their hatred for foreign people and their complete disregard for the well-being of the British people, evident in their reckless desperation to see the UK out of the EU on any basis whatsoever, they are indeed the enemy within.

there is a possibility that come 29th March, we leave with no deal, then a second referendum to either confirm no deal, ratify TM's deal or rejoin.

There is a possibility that any process of re-joining will be extremely difficult to negotiate as we would almost certainly be demanding re-admittance under terms at least as favoutable as at present, and they might not be offered.
