Thanks for the feedback everyone

I take your comments on board and certainly will look at different ways to do this next time.

One problem we have to try and get round is the security - we had at least 2 people actively looking to steel a bike from the stands. We have to try and give the manufacturers the most secure site we can manage in a city centre spot so its all a compromise

Thanks for all that came along and made it such a great day

Anyone who wasn't there should regret it. Event was great and very well organised. Ebike area was very secure which was very well planned by organisers. Village set up also very handy and lets be honest so many bikes in one place. Where can you have that? So far imho the best electric bike event and we are the first ones to attend next year

An absolutely brilliant day, I agree with Andrew, it was certainly in the top two of all the public events we have ever attended, massive interest in the bikes!

The test course could have been slightly improved in respect of the one very tight turn. The hill was ample and the length of ride was perfect to get a feel for the bikes.

The race I still believe is more about the rider than the bike though. If you put me on any of the bikes I would have lost but if you put Andy, Steven or Eddie on the same bikes they would still have probably won! There was also a lot of banter re cheating after the race which was interesting! However so much fuss is made about the "winner" that the temptation to run a higher current and derestrict must be very strong. Would it be possible to have a longer procession on a circuit with prizes for the best turned out bike, fancy dress, the best looking electric bike model etc. maybe voted for by a small section of the crowd. The Presteign "race" IMO was more of a spectacle, such an event would certainly draw the crowds.

That said, the organisation was amazing, and the attendance and interest in electric bikes was strong. This event is certainly set to become the one "must attend" e-bike gathering of the year. Could it be over two days Alastair? We could then get together for the evening and have more time to chat to others in the trade. Maybe use the exhibition marquee?

Finally, these events take a lot of time and effort to arrange, they certainly do not just happen. So a huge thank you must go to Alastair and his team!

All the best

Yes, it was a great day apart from the parking, which went from free parking to not being able to park at all for some of us in a blink of an eye, but we'll know for next year. The other events brought loads of public in, which is good for traders, and also good for spreading general awareness of electric bikes. For punts, there was a huge range of bikes to try at no cost, so that can't be bad.

Looks like moaning is just a nature of human being  any of us could point out something, for some it was hard to park, for some the test rack was too tight and I even heard that someone said ''I was expecting more electric bikes and event to be bigger as there is not much choice'' which was the hit of the day imho :D

Overall event was excellent and full stop. Don't wanna hear any more moaning from ya :p

From a sales point of view the event was excellent....lots of new sales to pedelec virgins, especially the Kudos Arriba model..unlike most of the other European countries which sell ebikes it is obvious most people like the mountain style of bike even when it is obvious that a 700 c touring style bike would probably be more suitable.
Thank you Alistair a good job.
Based upon customer interest Kudos will definitely be repeating the Redbridge event,Manifold Trail event and the Bristol event, thats a reasonable spread geographically.

Personally, I wouldn't describe what's been said about the event as moaning - Constructive feedback for those that want to listen & maybe improve some aspects for next year.

For me, better comunication would do the trick - Knowing that 30% of city centre streets were going to be closed, considering the extensive 1 way system, would have made a big difference.

Its funny because whenever I get into discussion with my dad he often tells me "If you know how to do it better then do it yourself - DIY" :p

Thanks anyway for all Constructive Feedback  surely all this will be taken on board

Good Night and Amen

Also should be said, fantastic to see so many BEBA members at the event and commenting here. This is the kind of support the industry has needed for years!

Is this the tipping point for electric bikes in the UK? I think maybe it is!

Not with me on one!! :p
You're just a shrimp compared to a couple of the blokes we had riding at the Eden show:

I must admit to being a tad aprehensive as to whether they should ride or not, so put 'em on the Haibike first; thinking, if they break that we're stuffed...

Nothing to worry about & they both, seperately, rode all the mtbs we had & one of 'em wouldn't give the Arriba back - I thought, at one point, we were going to have to resort to surgery to remove the saddle from his bum :p

Thanks!

We had a really big guy on one at the London Ebike Day last year, he loved it.

You can see me following him around the track, just in case! I have lost more than 6 stone sine then though!
