Brompton commuting fail!

Not only did I miss my train to get to work last night....upon arriving in London, running late I jumped on the Brompton ready to go speeding off...all seemed fine but then it kept cutting out on me.

Then I rembered I'd re-programmed the controller LVC for my new battery earlier in the day and had set it to 40v and then changed back to my 36v battery...what a disaster...and what an idiot!

So I have now ridden it 4 miles uphill unpowered and I can confirm it's hard work with the Cryatalyte motor but still possible! Just about to start the return journey but at least it's mostly down hill.

I won't be doing it again out of choice!

Reminds me of when I had one eZee battery with added cells to raise the voltage by 10%. It was for the one of my two bikes that could accept it, but I mistakenly took it out as the spare when riding the other bike on a long trip. Of course it being too high a voltage when the first battery ran out I was stranded without power miles from home in a hilly area. Slogging a 25 kilo bike home with no power was no fun, made all the worse by knowing I had an unusable full NiMh battery on board adding a further 5 kilos!

Haha yes it was extremely annoying to know I had a completely fresh battery, waiting to whizz me up the hill but the controller just cut out when it dipped under 40V (almost immediately!).
