Can you tell Storck from Butter?

Just shows, why we are all different. I have both wisper and storck .
For me one is light years ahead of the other , but I am a 40 something fitness freak.
Some days for fitness , some for pleasure .
Must confess when I tried the storck , I was a bit underwhelmed. Jumped on a wisper and it raced away.
Something puzzled me, and eventually went back, tried it and rode it, how it should be ridden.
I do understand dons comments 1st impressions mean a lot.

That is a really interesting take on your first impression of the Storck and your subsequent thoughts, Cakey. When you went back to try the bike again, how was the experience different from the first time? In other words, how should it be ridden?

As I am not a '40 something fitness freak' perhaps the Storck is just not the style of bike for me.

I think you need to ask yourself what you want from a 2nd bike and what you want to use it for....

we are badly served with choice of European ebikes in the UK..It wont always be like this once they can satisfy the home markets...

all the bikes I mentioned previously with the " similar Swiss" motor, will feel like the storke but possibly better as 36V. They are all high spec, quiet, light weight, 7005 aircraft aluminium frame (like storke) XT gearing 10,13,16ah batteries etc..etc..and well priced.

The pick of the bunch in my mind and getting very good reviews is the Bulls green mover Copperhead model.

BULLS Green Mover - E-Bike, EBike, Elektrofahrrad, Elektro Bikes, MTB, Mountainbike, Cross Fahrrad, City Bike, Elektrorad, Bulls Greenmover, e bikes, ebikes, Elektro-Fahrrad

Also I wish you would go try a Bosch powered bike just to see what you think...

Can we assume that an electric-assisted bike is just a toy for you then Cakey? By that I mean, surely a "40-something fitness freak" doesn't actually need an expensive ebike? Certainly, if I were fitter, I'd happily ride an 8Kg fast road bike both for fitness and pleasure. I doubt I'd even give any thought to an assisted bike.

I think it's a bit of a shame when people have this assumption. I'm under 40 and a bit of a fitness freak. I'm in the gym most days and I kite surf and moutain bike (non electric) at weekends. However....I choose an electric bike on which to commute instead of using a car. It's not instead of using my non electric hybrid bike because I don't want the extra exercise before and after work, which would leave me sweaty and tired when I choose not to be.

If more people realised that electric bikes are not just for unfit or old people then usage would surge to the benefit of us all.

Which has obviously happened in the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark etc, with very high proportions of all bikes sold being e-models.

But here in the UK? I fear that in this, as in so many other things, we ape the USA rather than Europe and are car mad in consequence. The result is that normal bikes have a sporting or fitness image, which in turn leaves e-bikes only possible to view as aids for those who can no longer cope alone.

But understandable considering how e bikes are perceived in this country. In Germany it is a completely different situation, with e bikes being the choice of many fit people for off road pursuits etc... Rubens Barrichello?lol

I'm more than happy to break the mold...I always enjoy watching the moment of enlightenment when colleagues see me arrive at work fresh on my ebike, having traversed London in about a fifth of the time it would have taken on the tube. For me it's a 'no brainer'.

I WILL ... I WILL ... I WILL ... but need to get a couple of Air Shows out of the way first! The problem with having a girl friend, is that you have to clear things with TWO people!

Bikes used in Holland, differ massively from those used in Germany and no doubt Denmark, all of which differ markedly from those we use in the UK! It really is a mine field if you are trying to cater for all countries.

We will be launching a couple of new bikes in the very near future which will be in tune with what is being sold in Germany to the sporty types. I wish I could say more but we have a few details to sort out before we can announce. However if anyone is thinking of buying a more expensive euro style bike, it may be worth holding fire for a couple of weeks. They will not suit everyone, however they are tasty!

All the best

A very timely post, David. Thank you. So you would like me to wait a little while and then buy another 'more expensive euro style' Wisper?:D

I don't suppose someone is, perchance, busy designing something on the back of a fag packet as we speak? ;)

Best Wishes

Don

You are such a tease David but I understand your situation. If you're finally going to add crank-drive to the stable, albeit not with the Wisper name, I shall be more than a little interested.
