Why was the entire thread locked? Temporary Locking down I can understand, if it descended into a massive row etc..to allow time to suspend or remove those new account members causing problems.

I don't understand the logic in though permanent locking of entire threads..especially one as profound as that with outlined a new model for marketing e-bikes within our industry with useful benefits to owners eh. Mind you I didn't follow the thread too much beyond the first page or two, so I don't know how bad it got!
Heh....it got bad Paul, believe me .......

The insults slung Kudos Daves way were totally unacceptable, whether by a member OR another business, the thing is, as usual, the longer things take to sort out, the more problems there are, as other forum members understandably want to know the truth of the matter.

I understand that Daves legal team are looking into it and I hope he manages to get redress over the things that were written to his satisfaction.

I dont think that I would want to be under investigation by the Rally Design legal team !!

Of course on the other hand I can fully understand Russ being extremely careful over any potential legal problems, hence the locking of the thread until it is sorted.

Its all so sad that our mutual hobby, that we all enjoy so much, is dragged down to the level of the odd 'member' who tries to manipulate a good forum for their own ends :(

don't let the hubris and hot air on this chatter platform put anyone off dealing with them.
Nothing whatever to do with other posts, or trolls:

Simply a reaction to the above, which seeks to belittle the generally well-informed opinions of forum members.

Just for the record - I have no opinion regarding the dealers in question, as I'm too far out in the sticks to visit for a demo.

Flatbat(Steve,I think)....I too missed 50 Cycles previous rants,I do remember that someone from 50 cycles came on this forum saying arrogantly ' I cannot understand why anybody would buy a bike other than a Kalkhoff or deal with any other dealer than 50 cycles',reach for the sick bag!
I always think that if you have to knock the opposition and constantly talk up your own product,it shows an insecurity in your own product. I take it as a compliment that 50 cycles seem to be besotted with knocking the Kudos product so we are obviously doing a good job.
I rode a Kalkhoff bike at Eurobike,I would describe it as the Mercedes of the ebike world, solid, smooth in operation, not particularly fast, beautifully finished and well screwed together. Not sure where you get the £100 difference between the Agattu C8 Impulse and a Kudos bike, with only half the battery capacity.
Unless you got some super deal, the current price of the Agattu is £1695.00 and battery capacity 15Ah....the current most expensive Kudos bike is £1295.00 and battery capacity 10,4Ah. If you got the Agattu at £1395.00 that was very cheap.
When you read through old postings there is a feeling of reality about them, you had an in-depth discussion with Alex about valves on your similar bikes and join in other general discussions about ebikes. Whoare's postings absolutely have the smack of a work of fiction about them, they only talk about 50 cycles and Kalkhoff bikes, also the bad spelling and bad grammar is so typical of previous clones of Whoare-of course the one company that knows whether Whoare is genuine is 50 cycles themselves,it is noticeable they have not made any comments-if Whoare was a customer of Kudos I would feel the need to distance my company from his postings.
I suspect within 50 cycles is a loose cannon or cannons who thinks that such postings really make a difference to sales,in reality they show insecurity-my advice, let the bikes speak for themselves, you have a very good product it doesn't need these underhand sales promotion and you are spoiling the enjoyment of us who contribute to this otherwise excellent forum.
KudosDave
I totally agree with what you are saying Dave.

If you wanted to know exactly what went on you could always ask John.

I dont want to bring it all up again apart from saying that I have just re read the private apology that 50C sent to me, to see that in fact it was a rather 'backhanded' one as he said he couldnt remember threatening me on the forum and telling me to 'BEWARE'......as he had quickly deleted that bit.....I however had the proof with the original message still on my phone ....

However that was just incidental to the main point of that thread which was their underhand methods of trying to rubbish yet another make of bike on their website and having being asked to remove the offending content, they made excuses but did absolutely nothing about it for a long long time......they were lucky to get away with no legal action at that time in my opinion.

At the time, during that whole sorry thread, it 'seemed' like he was 'the worse for wear' but in his message to me he denies having drank 18 pints......so, I dont know......its just not all that professional is it.

As you say.....they are good bikes, why stoop to underhand methods of promotion

Helen said it is only a temporary locking down, the thread will return after the necessary checking and editing is completed.

I have to agree Dave.
The posting from Whoare was particularly vehement - I was very surprised. I'm sure we traders are prepared to take fair criticism - after all, it helps us improve, but this really did seem nasty. Theres no way that was justified. Hopefully it will all die down.

Jazper, but Whoare's posting was vitriol in the extreme. He described me as unethical,a liar, double crossing my dealers,a cheat,a struggling business,no customers(you know that isn't true you have a Kudos bike)...doesn't leave much, does it?
