I like the way you think and your solution though very risky might be the way forward. Like you say wait for more replies. The other problem is as you can see in the pic the removal tool attached to the spindle is not wanting to be removed. It's tightened to the extreme, I've used some penetrating oil and just left it. Any ideas on how to remove this. It's not the 13th today is it, it just feels like it .
That happened to me. I stuck the bottom bracket in a vice and used a set of stillsons on the knurled ring. Ended up with a couple of teethmarks in the ring.

Hold the spindle in a vice and wiggle the tool?

Immerse just the tool part in a cup of iced water for a minutes or several to shrink it's metal? Gently heat the spindle if that doesn't work, to expand that using a blowtorch?

Throw the lot in the bin and buy another one. They are about £2.

Puns are always welcome.

Personally, I'd try a junior hacksaw as already suggested (or triangular microfile), sawing or filing most of the way through, then I'd shove a straight thin pointy awl under the cut in order to make it bend or (hopefully) break, then I'd shove a flathead screwdriver into any available newly created space to further deform or break the thang enough to drag the thang out.
If the above doesn't work, file more away using a round file, weakening the ring further.

If they've used threadlocker, it dissolves with acetone. Unfortunately, acetone also dissolves paint.

Replacing the spindle and how to make sure I have the correct piece. I did at one stage see the spindle naked so to speak and it had 68, but I don't remember the rest. The picture attached is the fully clothed spindle. I've googled it and didn't find the brand.

Amazon £6 why because Ali express even at 75p with a lot more ad ons was a pain. Details were back to front address was okay but location was not. In the end I didn't trust them so when the devil rides out Amazon had to do.

I have already removed the piece and put some grease in. Then put it back realised I made a mistake took it off but it back. Digging a deeper hole without knowing and here we are. So at least any threadlocker is not a problem.
Just plucking up the courage to attempt the removal with a junior hacksaw. What more damage can I do.

You could cut too deep damaging the thread, some of which is inside the ring.

Yay this tool did the job . I bought a set of these when I was working on the motor and needing to remove the gears which had circlips. Being me I open the pack and used the first tool and thought somethings not right. They're acting like pliers, closing when they should be opening. The tool attached I just opened and hey these are doing what they should be. So let's try them and they worked.

Sometimes I think Frank just ride the bike and give it to the bike shop when something goes wrong. Then I think where's the fun in that.

Can you photograph the end of the bottom bracket spindle and post
If it is a square taper bottom bracket any 68mm (bottom bracket shell width) X 135.5mm (spindle length) square taper will fit.
ISIS bottom brackets are similar, are the spindle ends square or splined
Thanks

It's square taper, the attached pic shows a number 6 then some kind of symbol. I took that 6 as being 68. only because I had seen on Amazon spindles using 68. The spindle is 135mm, what is the 68 measurement

What bike is it? 135mm is very long - not a common size. What's the reason for needing such a long one?

The spindle is a Feimin, I earlier googled Felmin and got nothing. now with the right spelling I have found it, but have to look further for my size.

It's a volt pulse x, the measurement I've taken is from end to end. It's the original so I need like for like. I have posted a pic in a post earlier with the measurements. I can repost it .

I maybe being stupid by the picture posted has 84 where it usually says 68. I'm well out of my knowledge range here so will leave it to others to confirm.

Halfords example. Funnily enough same make.
