Do any members have or know the location of any working Currie or Electro-Drive motors (BMC).

I have inherited a new drive/gear box and a non working motor.
I have removed the faulty potted internal controller and am presently experimenting with a sensorless controller.
With erratic results !

This brings be to my next question has anybody successfully used an external controller with this brushless motor.

Looking forward to hearing of any experiences with the Currie Drive.

You could try electro drive .:07974 723996:. in the UK.

or Currie parts specialist EVdeals in the USA.
.
Thanks for the prompt reply and links

Flecc, as you know most Google searches bring up Tony Castles Electro Drive sites.

I have managed to speak to Tony as the origin of my parts was via a mutual riend. He has no working motors.

My real interest is in a 36V external controller driving the 24V motor with the internals removed or finding one of 36V brushed motors.

As for EVdeals I have this on the back burner if I fail to find locally (I can only buy a 24V Motor with internal controllerfrom them).

I hope other members will have used Currie in the past and will share their experiences.

I have a Currie drive, and am just beginning to use it. Not too convinced, with all the weight being on my rear wheel... I'm going to put it up for sale, soon, at what should be a very attractive price.
