Cycle charge aahhhh

Great stuff so far, I have to say when I said 50 by the end of this month.....what I am REALLY hoping for is nearer 100 ....please feel free Neptune to try for 50 on your own

I am up in South Shields at the moment and will approach a few more whilst here and maybe on the trip back down.

Keep up the good work everyone.....as Wurly says ...we have to keep up the momentum, please everyone try to get at least one in your own area, it will help us all.

morphix , when you say 50 charge points by the end of the month , is that 50 per member , or 50 total ? LOL . My printer is out of action at the moment , but I talked a friend into printing me a few flyers and leaflets . In our town we have two local bike shops . I just called in on the nearest one , which is the more Lycra oriented one . He seemed very keen on the idea . He has a Sakura bike in the window . I know the guy vaguely , and my opening gambit was "I saw this idea on the internet , and I thought of you ." It seemed to work well for me . Another useful tip is , if possible , call on businesses at a time when they are not busy . Being retired , I can do that because I have all day . Cant wait to try some other businesses .

Yeah that was 50 in total I discussed with Lyn and she thought it was a realistic target, but secretly we're hoping to surpass it once the momentum gets going ;-) If we can get around 50 though that would be a great start.

I've sent you a promo pack today with some leaflets and stickers, and also your membership card so that should keep you going for a bit.

Whilst out for ride today in gorgeous sunshine a total contrast from last Sunday's adventure I managed to call in on a couple of pubs, cafes and an LBS.

People were receptive, but we will see what transpires.

BTW, no was alcohol consumed

Well, I have just spoken to a Fish restaurant and tea rooms in Whitburn and a coffee shop at Seaburn Marina.....all very receptive too.....what a glorious day for it....hope more people have been making use of this sunshine to get out recruiting......good work.

BTW, 'some' alcohol WAS consumed......but not as much as last night

I have received my membership card and promo pack today, thanks .I have approached a few businesses locally , and leafleted a few that were closed .At the risk of finding extra work for people who are already busy , would it be possible to have weekly updates on the number of charge points ? Maybe this will have to wait until the cyclecharge map is available . It`s just that it would be nice to have some feedback on our efforts so far .

Neptune if you just log on to cyclecharge and click on directory at top of page you will see the list of chargepoints which are updated automatically.
There are currently 14.....we have a long way to go.

Good suggestion Kenneth for the upcoming site update..it's no trouble at all to do something like that.. in the meantime I'll try to keep things updated here. No change yet from Lyn's last update, but give them time
