Quite frankly ebikes have transformed my life. Its started over three years ago initially with a kit to convert an old ATB then a Cytronex and for the last three years and 4500 miles a DIY EBromtpon conversion.

Most days have involved a 10 mile plus round commute to work except for the few days in snow and -4 degrees last week when I took the car in. Interestingly I filled the car up from empty with £70 last week which was not a lot less than my £80 DIY battery, that has taken me those 4500 miles in three years. Before that I used the car every day to commute.

Its sooo much more than financial though. During that time I think I have had maybe a few days off max with a cold as being out in the fresh air seems to keep them at bay. Even more the well being gained from these traffic free commutes has been transformational. Last Friday in the wind and the rain I almost posted that a Tongxin motor has transformed my life lol

This week I have am out on a few pub lunches and have just come back to work from one today having taken my EBrompton and carried it into the pub. I actually beat/arrived back at the same time as those who came back by bus/car :p

Regards

Jerry

your experiences show how a bit of exercise and fresh air, plus a traffic free commute can really be a daily delight...
and electric assist can ease a doubting person into the joys of 2 wheels

cheers barryc.

"there have been occasions on my bike when I realise I have no recollection of the preceding miles. "
That's not uncommon on motorways, for that matter.
I find it best to avoid motorways when out on the bike.
