Some years ago there was someone who changed the LCD for a generic KT lcd , which wasn't able to derestrict the power. If I remember correctly the Cyclotricity LCD had a custom P6 setting.

My memory is very fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure that those bikes were fitted with an LCD1. OP must have the original LCD because he has changed P6. From what you're saying, he probably can't use a standard KT LCD, but a new controller and LCD would sort it out.

A new generic controller and LCD won't allow a dual mode restriction so for speed it would have to manually changed.
The Op will have to buy from Cyclotricity if the lcd1 or controller are at fault.

Jees £88 for a LCD1.

He doesn't need anything special. He can set his throttle to legal and restrict speed to 15 mph with any normal KT controller and LCD, just like we do. That's about £60.

It sounds like he won't be happy with that.
I read it that he still wants the best of both worlds.

Somewhere above I saw that the OP has contacted the manufacturer
and they said to replace all the bits he had replaced with the original ones

But I cannot see anywhere that he says what these bits are
not that might be a list of irrelevant parts for the purpose of this thread
but it might not be

so it would help if he posted what bit he has replaced

The speed limit could be unresticted in the in the settings while on private land if that is what you are in to. There would also have a decent amount of current on the road instead of some unnecessary artificial assist level limit that is solely there as a marketing gimmick.

I may be wrong, but I seem to remember that as well as limiting the speed to 15 mph, the restriction cut down the power as well, which made it pretty useless. As I already said, he can achieve everything he wants with a new controller and LCD. It only takes ten seconds to adjust the speed any time he wants.

Direct drive 1000W marked 250W? Could this become a S Pedelec? If there was insurance available for S Pedelecs.
