The seller says it's an unopened unwanted prize, I bet it's the one from the Gadget Show compotitions a few weeks ago.

Yep I saw that too when ebay prompted me as I have a continued search for Cytronex setup from when I purchased my Cytronex Trek 7300 from there. Its been brilliant, though now I have a E-Brompton too :p

I bought it !

Well the bike didn't sell on ebay so I did a deal offline. It was indeed given away as a prize on the Gadget Show, the owner hadn't ridden it and it was still in it's box. There is some ebike and Gadget Show history as it is the bike that Ortis rode on the show in November (confirmed by Mark at Cytronex).

I've only had a chance to ride a couple of 15 mile routes with the weather being like it is, but I can say it is a nice light, smooth and stiff (ooeeer) bike, it gets up to 20mph without blinking on the flat, I can't wait to get more rides on it when the snow and ice disappears.

Now where did I put my lycra :D :D

I was just thinking about upping my security today, wireless CCTV for the driveway and garage, garage door protection, floor anchors in the garage, Almax chains for home and work with cables for the ancilliaries and smaller cables/Dlock when out on short stops. As if I haven't spent enough already !

And I thought ebiking was going to save me some money (on fuel).

Good guess, I've had a Duke in the past (Multistrada) but now ride a BMW 1200RT.

Trouble is that I'm lucky enough to live in a crime free area (is that possible), nothing has happened around here for years and I haven't bothered too much with security. But, now my garage is filling up with more exotica, I guess it might only be a matter of time.

From scary youtube vids I've seen the only security for a bike worth it's money seems to be 16mm chains, I think it's scandalous that companies are claiming Gold standards without testing against two commonly used crim tools - bottle jacks and bolt croppers. Bottle jacks and Dlocks don't mix very well and bottle jacks are so easy to carry and use.

I hope you got the bike at a good price Etim,I cant tell 'cos the listing has finished. It does **** me off though that some one enters a competition for a prize they dont want. Then they sell it for financial gain.I know its the way the World works but this was the oportunity for some with out much money to get an ebike of their dreams as a prize.Maybe Im getting too soft in my old age,the wife says so some times........................but I think thats a different story, trouble is these days I cant remember what I started or if I did.

Not sure if it as the case this time, but the Gadget Show prize is normally a huge number of items, often over a hundred, so a win includes large numbers of unwanted things.

From what I recall that particular prize fund included 2 electric bikes (the other one was an A2B I think), a push bike, four or five TVs, several games consoles, a couple of camera and a lot more. If you watch the show the prize list is like a very expensive and slightly repetitive edition of the Generation Game.

Yes the owner received all the prizes and was selling off those he didn't want/need. He is a mountain biker and had no need for an electric road bike, good for me :D at the same time he had a high end Nikon camera for sale that he won (I didn't buy it).
