The report linked to below confirms my forecast the other day that Pons would become the major shareholder after Accell Group gave in and sold their 22% to Pons.

Together with Pons owned Gazelle they are producers of almost one million bikes a year, nearly one hundred thousand of them e-bikes currently:

A million bikes! 100,000 e-bikes! That must provide a lot of work for someone. What a shame that the UK isn't in there competing. Easier just to join the barrow boys in the city, I suppose.

If you really want to groan at what might have been, Derby Cycles was once wholly owned by Raleigh UK who couldn't do much with it so sold it out to Germany, including the rights to use the world famous Raleigh name on a German product.
