Dillenger Off Road Electric Bike Kit - Samsung Power

I have an old steel Marin Pine Mountain (no suspension in those days) which I would like to fit the above 1000w kit onto (rear wheel) - off road private road use only.

Thinking of using thumb throttle, no ebrake sensors and no pedal assist sensors.

There are a couple of really steep (13%) 0.25mile tarmac hills between my house and my regular commute which is 1.5 miles each way and I don't want to arrive at the office in a sweat or with oily shredded pants.

Am I mad ?

Get a kit with a geared motor. You'll like it a lot more and it'll look a lot more legal.

As it stands those 1000w kits will struggle on a 13% hill which will end your ideas of a sweat free commute, for a 1.5 mile commute a walk will be easier.

Give Woosh a call and discuss what you're trying to achieve. If they can't give you what you want, you can get a mix and match kit by buying parts from China.

There are also quite a few kits on EBay, but avoid those with the large direct drive motors.
