Ingenious! But is it worth it?

If it works (and it seems to), it saves about 60quid on a tubeless kit. If you mean 'worth the hassle', then yes. I've been looking at tubeless options for my drive wheel with the idea of not having to repair a flat, ever.

OK, I see but how will it guarantee against ever getting a puncture?

I would have thought a Schwalbe MP+ would offer similar protection and if you did get a puncture repair would be a lot easier than a tube less tyre?

Puncture protection is two-fold - a Fat Frank/Big Apple (for comfort and the Kevlar belt) and the tubeless conversion full of Slime or similar.

Slime and similar sealants were derived from their original development for motor vehicle tubeless tyres, and they do work much better with tubeless.

So this may be worth a try, but on the inevitable odd occasion when the sealant doesn't work, the subsequent puncture repair would be a nightmare. Personally I find punctures so easy to repair I wouldn't bother. Marathon Plus is a far as I ever go in the protection direction.
