Caught a snippet over on Endless Sphere, where someone has been given an e-bike specific drive chain to test, by some company called Taya.

No idea of pricing or real world durabilty, but they may end up being good for the Bafang mid drives, if proven to be good:

The company actually recommend them for the Bosch and Panasonic systems, but then they would, wouldn't they lol.

I have been wondering about tougher chains for some time, but then the same needs to be done for the sprockets. It is nonsense using ultra light components on a bike that weighs a ton if this is at the expense of reliability. The same applies to the paper thin tyres and tubes. What is needed is a serious motorbike style reinforced tubeless tyre.

I sometimes see people who look as if they weigh >25 stone riding full carbon ultra light weight racing bikes with 23mm tyres, that would have cost them well over £2K. Seems to me they have paid a lot of money to buy a very fragile ( if beautiful) bike that is really not suitable for them. The likely-hood of punctures, broken spokes or worse must be very high. They could have bought something ( eg a touring bike) a lot more robust, with more comfortable ride, saved a lot of money and ( dare I say it? ) ride just as fast by eating a few less pies!
