Noticed that the eZee Torq Electric Bicycle is being advertised without battery? What is the reason for this if anyone knows.
Which battery would you recommend and what would be the approximate cost. Thanks

My guess is (if its second hand) that the battery is dead and the seller does not want to buy a new one before selling as they can be expensive.

Others will give you costings.

Regards

Sorry, should have made it clear, this is a new bike advertised on their own site.

On the website of Cyclepoint. Is this an old web page then? Offer is half price without battery.

cyclepoint are no longer the distributor. "half price without battery" what does that mean! half what price? the battery is probably more or less half the price of a complete package:rolleyes:

just do your sums and be careful.....you can always buy a different battery have a look at associated threads and call onbike and ask for a battery price.

IMO the bike is not worth much at all as you will not have any support and with e bikes this is essential....

As they are no longer the distributor they cannot obtain the batteries for their remaining stock, having sold the bike's batteries as replacements. The reason why they can't get them I know as a matter of confidence, but I'm sure you can put two and two together to work out why.

Good idea! I will have a hard think as to whether it is the bike I want (seems ok from current write ups) and if it is I will follow up your idea. Will let you know how I get on.

When I asked them a similar question earlier this year, their offer was derisory.20% if memory serves. I would pay by credit card, not debit card.

The torq or most other ezee models have not been selling too well second hand recently, probably the previous poor past reliability of the batteries has made people reluctant to spend £400 on a new battery,so ebay seems to have the occasionall bargain hardly used ezee but probably needing a battery, often seling at under £300 now,i would look in this direction rather than a bike without a battery at all.
