which is a bit ironic considering they are putting in more effort so should stay warmer.Very few lycras to be seen on the roads these days.In the Summer on a nice day there are lots of them on their fancy, expensive bikes. Now its a bit cool and damp they all stay at home! Give me an ebike every time!
My brother was one of them, club member, audax rides etc, doing about one fifth of my annual cycling mileage even when I was on unpowered bikes. That's the difference between a sport biased rider and a utility rider using a bike for everyday transport as well as leisure.Very few lycras to be seen on the roads these days.In the Summer on a nice day there are lots of them on their fancy, expensive bikes. Now its a bit cool and damp they all stay at home! Sounds like a blooming good idea to memaybe they have all inexpensively flown with their 7kg bikes for warm weather training in the Canaries???

Of course there will be exceptions and you are clearly one of them. Most of the sport biased riders I've known have not been utility cyclists though, and vice-versa. None of the few utility riders I've known over the years in my area have been in any way sport riding biased.flecc,
I am ,or have been , both a sportive rider and utility cyclist, its the sportive club cycling that has kept me fit for the utitlity riding
My wife who joined a local ladies cycle club has ridden twice a week all through this winter come rain and more rain......Personally I cant believe some of the conditions she ventures out in, but she loves it and her fitness improving all the time.
