I went to an inventors' exhibition today. There wasn't a great deal for cyclists - and nothing electric - although there was a compressed air tricycle:

There was also a novel (to me, anyway) bike lock which worked as a sort of steering lock in reverse - when locked the handlebars were no longer connected to the front wheel (giving the added advantage that the bike could be leant against a wall and the handlebars aligned with the wall to give a slimmer profile - I think you can just make that out in respect of the bike at the back of the picture):

Thanks for the information lectureral.

Interesting that after the French advances in creating a compressed air car that this drive method has now found it's way onto a bike.

That's an excellent lock idea, with very effective anti-riding security and the compact bike storage I hope it goes mainstream.

Folding handlebar, that's the mutts nutts and just what I have been looking for!
Now I just need to order it from Germany, I hope their English is better than my German.

Das verstehe ich nicht
.
More compact storage against a wall such as in a corridor cab be very useful Footie, and rendering the bike impossible to cycle away protects against most cycle thieves.

The guy did claim that it could be retro-fitted to all bikes - I didn't ask him how much it cost though.

I've got the details for the lock but need someone to translate, as a few may be interested I'll start it on it's own thread.
