Just saw this in a French shop. Typically french, called after a packet of fags!

10 Ah Panasonic and approx £1569 at today's rate. looks a bit like the E Motion me finks.

Gitane actually refers to all gipsy people in some countries, most notably Hungary, also to their brand of music and the guitars used.

How do I know this? Well, the Hungarian composer known as Franz Liszt (real name Ferenc Liszt) wrote many pieces based on gitane music.

No cycling link known apart from Lynne's Mostly Cycling Blog where she mentions Liszt's first performance at the foot of the page in connection with her ride through Hungary.

Gitane make some really good road bikes, it's a shame there aren't many UK dealers.
