At present my ezee torq lights are disconnected,due to a non standard controller being connected,i guess if i connected direct to the battery at 36v they should work ok, but how about at 48v i thought not, but i saw a front light kit on ebay supposed to suit 12v to 48v,would 48v give better light or just blow a 36v bulb.

If they are the usual eZee LED lamps Paul, they'd probably blow. The front "bulb" is an array of seven LEDs and the back one usually a single, arranged in series to use up the 36 volts.

I'm surprised they are not regulated. The Ebay ones mentioned above may be regulated if they support a large range of input voltages

I ran my Ezee Forza front LED lamp at 44.4V nominal voltage for a few months with no problem. The light output was the same (still pathetic), just enough to be seen. So I replaced it with a Trailtech 30W HID instead. Much better

My guess is that it will cope with 48V just fine, but no warranties given

If it blows you have a good reason to replace it with something better...

Thanks for the replies is there any type of better bulb available,it is only the front lamp i would like to keep working as an emergency back up ,i have a good rechargeable front lamp that is often used as a torch by other members of my family,and after such use it can suddenly leave me in the dark.
