Yes, makes sense, you would need to look at the spec sheet for the MCB but yes they can stand short term 'overload', the bigger it is though the quicker it will trip.

For the Schurter breaker I posted about earlier the spec sheet is here:

You can see how much overload it can take and the time in which it will trip. So I would size the breaker for the maximum expected load or more....I would not under rate it and hope the overload wont trip it ;)

I been using a similar switch on my Brompton setup for two years. It no great shakes if it fails. I mainly use it to stop arcing when I connect the deans plugs together. There is a 15 amp fuse in the circuit too.

Those circuit breakers are waaaay too big.
