Not really, the opposite is true. Always carry a load on a bike if at all possible since the trailer wheels and tyres add substantial drag and make it much harder work.use a 2 wheel trailer...far more efficient and dual purpose then a lump of a cargo bike![]()

Trek have been taking out full page ads in the cycling press just for pedelecs so they are pushing quite hard. I like the cargo bikes and have seen a couple in Dartford which is pretty hilly so they can't be all that bad to ride. This was mentioned on another forum but by all accounts the first test rides have proved that it does indeed work well. This was done on the electric bike version as well, but they have had to use the smaller battery to keep the weight down. Even if this is not a success it does show that there is a swing for the big players getting into electric bikes. Trek is massive they have the money to push e-bikes on if they choose, and with the release of this model it does look like they are taking it seriously.
Dartford has a resort?Trek have been taking out full page ads in the cycling press just for pedelecs so they are pushing quite hard. I like the cargo bikes and have seen a couple in Dartford which is pretty hilly so they can't be all that bad to ride.
Yesterday I hired a 4 seater pedal car to take my family round the resort, that really is a vehicle crying out for motor assist!
I missed that. It's amazing how much a bike can carry, many long distance cycle tourists use four panniers, and of course what they carry on a bike in India and the China never ceases to amaze. There was a program on last night about Hannibal's unsuccessful invasion of Rome (14 years long) narrated by 3 brothers on really nice looking touring bikes with front and rear panniers...... no info at the end though![]()

When in spain on my motorbike I could get a whole trolley full of stuff on the back, I was surprised as I struggled to fit that much in my car boot. Likewise when I stop off on the 906 on the way home I can get a small trolleys worth on the back.I missed that. I've never thought about towing a trolley home from Tesco behind the bike.Likewise when I stop off on the 906 on the way home I can get a small trolleys worth on the back.
Maybe there's a market for a gadget that locks the rear wheels of a trolley so it tows nicely? It might make a good ebike advert showing how good the motor is.I've never thought about towing a trolley home from Tesco behind the bike.
Good idea, if it goes in a straight line!

No need, all that's needed is a horizontally rigid coupling to the bike so that the trolley swings out on bends like the overhang on a long truck. That would easily do for a video demo of loaded trolley towing. Still not as much as this though:Maybe there's a market for a gadget that locks the rear wheels of a trolley so it tows nicely?
