When charging a Li-Pol battery the charger becomes very warm to touch, is this normal for these chargers?

Battery Li-Pol (26V, 10.5A)
Charger (L 100-24, 29.4V, 2.0A)

I have never experienced this amount of warm up in chargers for car batteries, 24v power tool chargers etc

A bigger heat sink wouldn't go a miss

They can get quite hot. The earlier Powacycle chargers had no integral fan and always got hot, so if your's has no fan that's probably the case.

Some Chinese made e-bikes use the HP charger design which does have a tiny integral fan which keeps the air moving out at a moderate rate and they run a bit cooler in consequence.

There's no need to worry though, the built in BMS (battery management system) within the battery limits the charge to correct levels during charging so the charger cannot be over driven.

Probably not an older one, I just worded that way because I didn't know if later ones had fan cooling or not.
