How many miles per week do you cycle?

I'm cycling about 125 miles per week. After the weekend (only a little riding) my palms still feel bruised and my legs are still a bit sore and here I am about to set off again!

I was just talking about this with a colleague. I'm doing around 100 miles a week.

I do about 25 miles per week, but I'm leisure-only as I don't have to commute these days. I generally tend to pop out at lunchtimes and cruise the local bridleways for 30-40 mins.

In the first half of 2008 I averaged 133 miles a week, but very much lower in the second half for various reasons.

My weekly mileages are very variable so I usually quote annual which in retirement have mostly ranged between 3000 and 5000 per annum.

I agree with Flecc that it is easier to give a annual figure rather than weekly. I do over 3000 a year so on average about 58 miles a week. However some weeks I do a over 100 (this week and last week) others I do less. As a commuter cyclist you have to factor in the holidays, where I don't use the electric bike at all (although I use a normal bicycle for local trips).

One thing I would say is I go in every day regardless of the weather and how tired I feel - something I wouldn't do without the electric assistance (another plug for electric bikes).

I do find I have to do too much maintenance on bicycle when doing that many commuter miles. I tried to get the LBS to do some of it but as he failed to tighten up bike bits and on the way home a rear brake shoe fell off (£43 for all that)! I do it all myself now, but it is a pain.

I'm averaging about 40 miles a week. This dropped down to 0 for a few weeks when I avoided the cold, ice, and salt on the roads. Almost all my miles are miles that would have been done in my car.

I'm doing 65 miles a week on my Pro Connect and in all weathers! It beats sitting in traffic jams :)

If I'm not working at the weekend I'll do about 200 miles a week, much of it through stop start London traffic.
Thankfully I have a very varied choice of routes to take, busy main roads, quiet cycle paths, parks, ferries, beaches, off road, flat or very hilly. Why does the quickest route have to be busy main roads over big hills? :(

Leisure rider only. Usually manage about 20 per week (more if I get the chance).

It's the same here in Cornwall, only the hills on the back roads are even steeper - need crampons on some of them

I'm just coming up to two years of electric biking.

My Quando, bought in February 2007, which has now struck electrical problems, has 2342 miles on the clock.

The Sprint, bought in November 2007, has 2713 miles on the clock.

I also do a few miles on other bikes, so I'm doing about 50 miles a week.

Prior to the electric bikes I did 3500 miles in the year I turned 60. While I believe it was good for heart, lungs and muscles it took its toll on joints and tendons, and I can still feel the effects today. I am now much more aware of the need to listen to the feedback the body is giving and do something about it if necessary. The high power of the Ezee bikes and availablity of twistgrip control are important features for me.

Amazing mileages everyone! I wonder if the average mileage for the average pedelec'er is higher than that of the average non-pedelec commuter?

When I speak to other cycle commuters at work none of them know anyone that commutes as far as me, but on here there are a few who travel the same or further. A high mileage rider is likely to spend a lot more money for a better ride so I'd expect the average to be considerably higher.

I do 75 miles a week in all weathers except when it's seriously below zero and then I take the train. Only had to do that twice this winter.

I do about 80 -100 miles per week, but this is commuting to work only. Every other trip involves some combination of wife plus 5 kids (and/or friends, pets etc) so usually involves a people carrier....
Currently doing 0 miles per week (see thread 'Wisper went pop' :( ) hopefully we'll soon be fixed and back to normal routine :) .

I travel 20 miles per week to work and back. It doesn't sound like a lot (it isn't) but it's nearly a thousand per year, combined with a occasion ride during weekends. I wished i had more miles to cover now my fitness level is increasing.
Covered 22 miles testing out my bike this w/e. I expect to ride it more as the weather warms up.
