Hub Identity please

I hae a hub with BFY 812B10902 Its 36v and might hae come of an urban mover is it a brushed one or not only 3 wires coming out which would I put power to, to test it.

Three wires indicate to me that it is a brushless motor and you will therefore need a brushless controller to test it.

It's a brushless Suzhou Bafang motor needing a normal three wire sensorless controller, with which it will only start running after a turn or so of the pedals to get rolling.

Alternatively you can get a non Hall controller that senses feedback and enable starting from a standstill, albeit with a degree of initial roughness.

I'm not up to date on the available controllers but I'm sure others will advise.

The only check you can do without a controller is continuity between the wires.

Forget BMS get the controller from E-Crazyman off ebay, ships from the heathrow area in about a week...no waiting for delivery from China...
