This bike was meant to be out in early septermber, then got delayed to October. Spoke to them a couple of days ago and they are now expecting end of November, beginning of December

My guess is that they won't see this bike until New Year at the latest and then it will be limited in stock.

So after my disappointment about the x-byke, and now the Infineum, looks like I'm going to have to wait till next year, unless perhaps I went for a Wisper (but again, this has the looks of a lighter version of my old Synergie Extreme - ok, I know it's superior in spec, it's just the look ! :)

Oh well, a bit more time to save then and maybe Cytronex would have got their new models in by new year.

You remind me of my own situation with ebikes. I remember waiting for over a year for the Diavelo ebike to be released but it never did see the light of day!.

I so wanted the Diavelo because it looked like a normal mountain bike. Thankfully the Wisper came along and saved the day.. The Wisper looks quite normal, and looks even more normal when you remove the mudguards.

I've also replaced the seat with a more streamlined and painful version.

I remember that Diavelo ebike on the internet. The picture looked amazing especially with the Shaft Drive.

I kept checking the site out but it never made it into the real world. The next electric bike to really grab my interest was the Wisper but I ended up with Cytronex. Interesting because I'd forgotten the Diavelo and having just checked the piccie out on the web it looks a bit similar to the Cytronex (ignoring the chain and bottle battery).

The Diavelo was heavily hyped and I strongly suspect that was done by the US manufacturer Schwinn to build up a demand and expectations. In fact the bike did appear as Schwinn's first e-bike, but it proved to be a disaster with very poor software, a controller that failed frequently and it didn't live up to any of the performance and range claims by big margins. Eventually a Schwinn Vice President issued a statement that the bike was not up to standard and it was withdrawn, though a few made their way to the UK via an alternative channel.

Since then Schwinn have introduced further models still based on the same Tongxin Nano motor, hopefully more reliable, though some have appeared at lower prices under different names like Claud Butler, presumably to shift them. Not one I'd risk buying.
