Inner Tube problem

A few times now I have had inner tube on front and back just blow.Not due to rims, as the split or fault is on the upper side of the tube. Proved the tyre is not damaged by thorns, nails. At the moment using the continental type, was out yesterday on flat road surface, the rear tube just popped.
I run them at 60psi, Is this cause or is it just one of those things, I have reduced the pressure to 50psi
To see if that helps, I do ride off road and on track.
I was wondering if those thicker inner tubes would help.

Rim tapes go around the inside to protect from the spokes. Tyre liners go around the outside to protect from thorns and things.

I had to chuck out a set of these - they caused cuts in the tube where it met the crossover point of the 2 ends of the liner. Waste of space.

Funny enough, I did know that

Liners are frequently blamed for causing catastrophic blowouts.

Standard rim tapes in use as per normal. No other form off thorn protection in use either. The blow outs on the tube are towards the outer of the wheel ie tread side.
Tyres indicate I can go up to 70 psi if required. This doesnt happen often, just now and again which makes me think
Just accept it, but was asking if I was perhaps pushing the tubes at 60 psi off road use.! Might be a contributing factor.
I would say in the two thousand miles I have done its happened 6 times.
Could be a bit of dirt has got in when repairing other punctures, and over time its created a weak point.

You don't have to worry about pumping them up too far. I often go over 80 psi. If they're splitting, there's something in the tyre that's doing it unless you're pinching them when you put them on. If you've been levering the tyres on, learn to do it without levers.

Before I found out about Schwalbe Marathons, I used puncture resistant tape liners on non kevlar road tyres on my mountain bike.

I did about a 500 miles on them with no problems. I did chamfer the ends though, as I'd read about on the web. People had said the 2mm step does sometimes pinch.

I now use Marathon Plus tyres, and don't get punctures any more, even with normal cheapo inner tubes.

I did have one blow off though, with a loud bang. It was on an unusual wheel though, a smooth sided alloy one on the rear of a Dutch Spartamet, with a 30cc petrol engine in it.

I think maybe it was my fault though, as Dave has mentioned, I'd had to force the tyre on with levers, so maybe I damaged the bead. I switched it with the front (which was a conventional wheel), and carefully eased the other tyre on with wasjing up liquid instead. I've now done about 100 miles on it since, with no further blowouts.

If you've been levering the tyres on, learn to do it without levers.

I normally run mine 8 or 10 psi below max. on-road & less off - I just keep an eye on how much of the tread is making contact i.e. If the wet bit's too wide I pump 'em up a bit.

Thanks for replys, no I dont use levers normally. I think its just something has got in, ie bit of dirt or faulty tube. Will continue
At 60 psi.which suit's me best.
