I've seen several versions of this bike and they all seem to have the huge bottom gear. I believe that the Bafang motor markings are positioned behind this gear approximately behind where the gear markings are. I don't know whether there's enough gap to look behind the gear and see them because I've only see photos. This might explain why you can't see any ID. Perhaps you could cofirm, Old Timer. Anyway, that bike still looks good for the money.

Hi,

Does anybody know anything about these, whether they're good or bad? Thanks.

These bikes are Chinese exports but made for an Italian firm operating under the "Moskino" brand, they have their own website. There is also a UK distributor for the brand, also with a website. They are also exported without any brand and sold by a few vendors in the UK.

I tried one of these bikes (unbranded, not Moskino, but more or less the same) and it was well made and performed reasonably well, I had no trouble climbing steep hills on the one I tried out (see my review link below, complete with some video footage). They are obviously Wisper copy-cats but maybe lack the quality and finesse of the Wisper bikes. They are heavy bikes weighing around 25kg. If you want a no thrills cheap electric MTB with a decent battery and motor then this is it. For the price, you wouldn't be able to save much money going down the DIY kit conversion route, but you might be able to get a better/lighter bike and build it more to your requirements for the same price, if you're so inclined.
