Hi.
As the new owner of a Kalkhoff Aggattu I need a non power related spare part. Is there another source of spares rather than 50 Cycles. Won't go into it however my search for an alternative source has nothing to do with the recent spat on here.
Thank you.
Regards

The Electric Transport Shop is one that springs to mind and they have a handful of branches. What I can't tell you is whether they source their Kalkhoff bikes and parts direct from Derby Cycles in Germany or from 50Cycles here in the UK. It would be nice to think the former is the case as it avoids paying any money into 50Cycles which I guess you'd prefer.

The Raleigh and Spencer-Ivy bikes are also Derby Cycles models with little variation from the Kalkhoff models, so you may get what you want from one of them. The Raleighs are sold and serviced through a chain of dealers.

For future information they use the Panasonic batteries, not the Kalkhoff-BMZ ones

Eddieo.

Thank you. Just tried the Electric Transport Shop and await their response. If not available I'll move onto the German suppliers as you suggest.

Well. Interesting exercise on customer service from both 50Cycles and The Electric Transport Shop. I was chasing down a Kalkhoff spare. I know one dealer who will not gain from me in the future.

Email sent to TETS. Reply was that they were certain they could help and following a quick exchange of emails they asked for the frame number. This was supplied and I waited and waited. No response at all. I even sent 2 further emails just to jog their memories/conscience? Never heard from them again and 8 days wasted.

Email sent to 50Cycles . Quickly put in touch with person who could order the part and it arrived 1 day later. Superb service. As for The Electric Transport Shop they will never see nor hear from me again. Your loss mate.

In fairness I doubt ETS have any ready way of contacting Derby Cycles gmbh (the manufacturer) directly, so they'd probably try the importer 50cycles.

If so, that wouldn't leave a fair playing field at that point. Nonetheless, they should have kept in touch.

Glad you got good service ultimately though.
