Heard about these batteries on the radio today. Being launched in new electric car loan scheme in Paris this weekend. Is this the future?

The L.M.P. battery - Bluecar by Pininfarina
It might be the future, but not for me. It would take my car about 50-80miles, but if a slice of it was cut off to power my bike, it would be about 7 litres in size and weigh about 7kg. The weight wouldn't be too bad, but the size! No. back to my trusty(?) lipos.

That Paris hire car scheme is claiming 80 mph and 200 miles range according to BBC news!

They have a vivid imagination.

The energy density is quoted at 100 watt hours per kilogramme.
Seems much the same as the batteries that we use.
