Meerkat metro problems

Meerkat metro just over two months old the battery has gone, i tried to recharge it the charger goes green after twenty mintues, but its not charged as it will not go further than 20 yards. What could be the problem as I have had a new charger from the company that supplied it, I use it cycle to and from work 8 miles there 8 miles back, charged at work and at home. Recently the light was goiing red four miles in but the battery still lasted all the way home. Surley the battery should las longer that six weeks. Its sla by the way any thoughts

It certainly sounds like it's the battery failed, but I've never known one go that early. It has to be within warranty, so best to go back to the retailer (Tesco?) for a replacement.
