I think it's a good idea to settle on the 30th, the jetstream that's bringing all this cloud and rain is still firmly stuck over Southern and Central Britain. Metcheck predict the jetstream will move to it's historically more Northerly position early next week. There's a very good chance of a dry and sunny Bank Holiday.

All the best
Bob
I will now be holding you personally responsible if the sun isn't shining on the New Forest on August 30th :)

Wally Wisper

Wally Wisper says that because of the train service he can't get there until 10:15 - 10:30 on the 23rd or 30th.

(neither can I get there on time ;) )
I thought for a moment you were referring to me!

Or were you? :D

Shop at Sammy Millars

Sorry but we sold the shop over a year ago to Electric Bike World.

As long as there is not a big Harley meeting or similar on that date I would think it will be fine, but it is worth a call first.

All the best

HMMMM, Depending on how many of us will be attending and wishing to park our vechiles containing our bikes I wouldn't think that it would be a good idea to park at the Museum car park especially as we won't be there to spend money at the Museum or Cafe, at least not until later in the day anyway, I'll 'phone the Museum to find out the parking situation but at this stage and considering what is going on there at that bank holiday I think it would be more prudent and easier to park in one of the side roads, I.E. Antlers drive, or part of Stem Lane, etc and cycle back.

Intimidated?

Do you think they'd be intimidated by a bunch of e-bikers then David?
.
No Flecc, we are simply a mirror holding their future and they may not like what they see reflected.

Sorry but my daughter is just going into upper 6th philosophy! :D

Car Parking at Sammy Millere's Museum. 30th August e Bike run.

I've spoken to Sammy 's Museum and parking will be no problem for, I said I thought about 10 cars, not possible to say exact number of course. The gates of the Museum shut at 4 30pm, so I personally think I will park my car in a side Road nearby not wishing to get locked in. For those who wish to park in the FIELD of the Museum, not the usual car park as this will be taken up with motorbikes, there may well be an area cordoned off for your cars, I suggest it may be an idea to put a slip of paper near the windscreen saying something like: ''New Forest Electric Bike Fun Run'' or something similar, perhaps ''Pedelec Cycle Run''.
I do also think it would be a nice gesture to have a tea or coffee in the cafe before we start the ride just to give a bit of income to the Museum in return for our vechiles being parked there and us not otherwise spending money with it.
Any other thoughts please? Tony.

If you have two wheels, handlebars, top-box, a big mirror, and live in my garage, then yes. :D

New Forest Ride. This sunday the 30th August at Sammy Miller's Museum.

See you, all those attending, on the 30th this coming Sunday at 10 15am at Sammy's Museum. I suggest we meet outside the Electric Bike World shop which is almost next to the cafe, these are both to the right of the Museum courtyard area as you enter from the tarmac car park. Here's to a good ride and lets hope the weather's good. Tony.

I'll be there (as long as the train takes the strain and gets me to New Milton)

I'm just back from the New Forest Ride and would like to thank Tony (tenderbehind) for all he did in planning the route, and to Mel and Judy for their excellent company. The batteries lasted, the rain just about held off, and Tony gave a good demonstration of how powerful the Wisper battery is in his 905Sport.
Thanks one and all, and here's to the next one.

Thank you Colin, blimey you got home quick! Sorry we didn't say adios, didn't realise you were heading to the station from that last roundabout.
Yes we will have to organise another, maybe with a few more folks turning up perhaps and a bit better weather would be nice.
I figured out i could have trashed the batteries a bit more but the headwind made me conserve what i had left for the last bit.
We both had a good 'work out'......good exercise though. Thanks to Tony for the get together. I couldn't believe how little he had to pedal, he needs footrests not pedals.
Cheers
Mel

New Forest ride, Pleasant company but just the four of us.

Hi to Mel, Judy and Colin, It was a very pleasant day wasn't it?
We rode about 26 miles in the lovely New Forest, mainly quiet roads and stopping of at two pubs, drink in each and with a ''light bite'' at the second. Our start was delayed only by our waiting to see if any other pedelec memberes would turn up, no others did, and to see the start of, and to keep out of the way of, perhaps about 100 motorcyclists and their steeds leaving Sammy Miller's Museum.
Mel suggests an annual event, so perhaps a few more members next year?
With Best Wishes to my company, Tony.
