Will probably be the 905 SE City S. Basically the same as my sport, but with full mudguards and rack. I notice that there is an option of the " Pro Sport 52 tooth chain drive" This appears to be standard on the new 906xc, what will this mean in a practical sense please? and is it worth going for?

Thought long and hard about this...do I need more power? Yes occasionally, but not that often really. And I feel more comfortable on a legal bike as long as it has an off road switch! I use the bike more or less daily now and fitness has improved a lot and happy to stay with a Wisper or two........

A bike with the same battery as my wife's latest 705 SE. I want to use both on mine as she hardly uses her bike and I dont enjoy riding hers........

"Pro Sport 52 tooth chain drive" so what difference would this make please?

I've not counted them but I think a normal wisper has a 48T chainring.

A 52T is what you often get on a racer and it will make the bike go a bit faster (if you are fit enough)

A 52 tooth is what the 22 mph eZee Torq 1 had, and that was a bit too high geared really, many changing the chainwheel for a 48 or 44 tooth on those.

Much depends on the rear cassette sprocket sizes though.

Maybe a better fit with the 906xc 8 gear Alfine hub do you think?

It should be ok with that gear range. The top gear will be on the high side, especially if that 906xc uses 700c wheels, less so with 26" wheels, but thats no problem with the wide range of lower gears to choose from. There's an added benefit of using gears below top most of the time on a hub gear, the intermediate gears are more efficient.

Also a very high top gear is handy when wanting to add to downhill speed with some added pedalling.

Hi Alex and Eddie

You are both correct the standard Wispers have the 48 tooth chain ring, however the 806 has 52, and the 905xc Tourer has 56! The tourer has 26" wheels Flecc and yes the larger chain wheel is great for a little extra speed going down hill and on the flat.

All the best

David

I used to ride in 7th using the throttle I now tend to stay in 6th and not use the throttle much at all just use the gears. So this 52 tooth chain drive will give a higher speed in 7th but what effect will it have on lower gears or will that not be any different?

when will the 906xc be available for a demo? as I want to try one before I make a decision. I see that the dapush motor is to be used in the Wisper kit, so they must like the look of it as its on the top of the range 906xc as well.

anyone have any experience with this motor?

Apart from the lucky Wisper staff, I doubt so ! :p

I wonder what the Unique Selling Points will be for this kit ? (silence, weight, consumption/efficiency, pedelec control, etc ?) Surely, Wisper's attention to detail means that they have (co-)designed an efficient combination of hardware and software. :D

I suppose the hardware in itself is quite innovative (electronics buit into hub, data logging...something like that), and with Wisper's exclusivity on this equipment (I think), we can expect that the Dapush brand will gain a good reputation on our shores.

Come on David, tell us more ! :p
