It uses a 36V battery. As this is a nano-brompton, I'd just get a 10AH from either ping (£300 but last forever), lifepo4 from ebay around £200 (but probably less good quality/support) or lipo for the cheapest price.

Or you can buy with me an A123 36V20AH pack from Victpower for the best quality/value but it would be an overkill on a nano motor lol

Jerry has a Tongxin, so he can probably advise you best on the motor torque.

If I were you, I would:
- buy a second hand brompton at £400
- get a Q100 kit from bmsbattery with its associated battery: between 200-300£

Then for 700-800£ you got the right bike for you

No, I don't think so. They do not exist for 16" tyre. I wanted them too for my brommie :p

No big apples for the 16" Brompton rims as cwah says.

I like Kojaks which are fat anyway. They are also very fast but you have to be prepared to fix the odd puncture or two. Had my third one about a week ago on the way home in the rain. That makes about 3 in nearly 12 months, but using my Brompton most days for the 10 mile round commute. I always carry a spare tube and just whip the wheel off and replace the punctured one, which I then repair in the comfort of my workshop. All my punctures have been on the rear wheel.

The Brompton is sprung on the back though obviously no damping on the front.

Ps I would put money on that Nano Brompton hitting the £1K mark or very close.

Jerry, do you think the nano has enough torque for someone that weight 18 stones? I was thinking that the q100 or q128 would be better for the job

Hmmmm

I have read on one of the Brompton Nano conversion sites, that the total weight of the bike, luggage and rider should not exceed 150kg. So 18 stone is 114 Kg. Bike would be anywhere between 12 - 17kgs depending on battery so I guess that would be ok.

Not sure what the rider weight limit for the Brompton is but that must be published somewhere too.

I have never tried the Cute motor series. It appears that it does have more grunt though.

I was watching and was prepared to buy at the right price - but not at what it finally went for.
