Well you can undestand, from Boschs perspective, if these charging staions included advanced battery fault detection systems not available on the normal user chargers.Bosch will pay them to bork batteries so that they can sell them new batteries, or new bikes, after making older batteries unavailable... (there's no evil corp icon)

I agree for the reasons you state, add to that anyone sensitive to the longevity of the usable life they seek from their battery, is not going to be keen on rapid recharging.In the main it is nonsense
