Hi, i got a synergie mistral on tuesday, which was a replacement as the first one arrived to me with twisted forks.

So i built the bike up yesterday and today i thought i would try it out. All was ok for the first 3 miles, then all 5 battery indicator lights went out and i couldn't pedal the bike. There was also a grinding noise coming from the back wheel. After struggling to push the bike for 5 mins all 5 leds came back on again. So i got on the bike and 20 seconds later all lights off again. It did this about 10 -15 times and there was a noisy grinding vibrating sound coming from the back wheel.

It sounds like the motor is jammed or something, i can barely push the bike nevermind ride it. What should i do ? I phoned synergie and they say the tech guy is away until monday :(

It could be one of several possible faults inside the motor, but most likely either the internal gears damaged or a brush/commutator problem. There's nothing you can realistically do Nicola as it's likely to need a new motor or exchange new bike again. If you opened the motor up it might invalidate the warranty.

Oh dear. It doesn't sound trivial. You've let them know it doesn't work, and you can reject it for a full refund if necessary as it has failed immediately....

I suspect you're just unlucky as I don't think these bikes are considered a bad lot.

I suspect you may have to wait until Monday and then arrange a return at their expense. They won't have an argument, and you don't have to accept a replacement as it was in effect faulty out of the box. It's slightly naughty of them to keep you waiting that long, but the outcome won't be any different.

Your remedy is with whoever you bought it from, if it wasn't Synergie themselves. As the seller they are liable under the Sale of Goods Act and in view of the time frame you can simply reject it.

Rog.

It looks like i'll be seeking a refund then :( We have been very unlucky with our electric bike adventure, the first mistral was dropped by the courier resulting in the damaged forks, this replacement one seemed perfect until i tried it out today. We also ordered a salisbury for my OH, the courier lost it and the replacement had lots of problems, then the missing bike turned up thankfully that bike perfomed great today. At least we have one fully working bike, now to get another.

Thanks for the advice guys, i shall phone synergie tomorrow.
