BUT they are not so nice to ride! Poor reviews in Germany, and from what I have read the Bosch still the one to beat....

One wag said this: Kalkhoff now have a matching bike for granddad to join grandma...and common knowledge the old 26v pana were designed to stop grannys dentures falling out as she accelerated...:D :p
For that money, Grandad and Grandma could have a grand bike each for less than a grand each and have change for enough denture fixative to last a life time.

eZee Sprint Primo, buy two for less than the cost of one osseointegrated mandibular implant!
As an advertising slogan, it just rolls off the tongue:eek:

We'll see, Kalkhoff are the ones who are usually at the top of their e-bike market these days for sales, by a big margin too.

That old granny joke originated from Wai Won Ching of eZee years ago and it's been circulating ever since.

It didn't stop them outselling the other crank drives over the last 4 years though! :p

Bosh only arrived last year and they cant produce them quickly enough

the impulse is hardly new either they simply bought a share in Daum and released a version of their drive as the impulse...hardly any serious research and development particularly when the Daum drive is regarded as poor I think..I haven't seen any though.

It's the market that counts Eddie.

Remember JVC's VHS, the worst of the three systems and the best seller by far which knocked the other two clean out of the market.

You say that but truth is Panasonic have had it a there own way for a very long time...Those days have gone. At last we have a new powerful 36v contender, with normal wheelbase, better more natural power delivery and most of the bikes are a lot lighter and cheaper as well...what's not to like.

Panasonic have had it there own ways for a very long time...Those days are welt and truly over. There is still loads of 2010/2011 bikes for sale in Germany whereas Bosch cant keep up with demand.

I agree, I think the Impulse will probably take the Panasonic share. There's many factors at play here, for example, the battery capacity will win many over from the Bosch bikes; with so many Bosch bikes some will just want to be different; there's Kalkhoff brand loyalty; most e-bike buyers never get near a forum so don't know what others do; there's not many e-bike buying Germans in Britain so what they do isn't relevant.

I just look at the feed back from fellow enthusiasts in Germany who have actually tried the bikes......and I don't see much evidence of excitement!lol

It would be great if 50cycles had something I was interested in, as they are probably nearest quality dealer to me...

Here it is, Bosch powered so it's got to absolutely wonderful hasn't it? Or have you changed your mind! :p

Pro Connect BS10
Its nice looking, good price, but it is a 350 watt moped? we have no official market for these type of bikes, but Kalkhoff dealers happily send you out onto the road totally illegally.....

Torque controlled Eddie, so just press a bit less hard on the pedals to keep it legal! :)

I thought you were a Bosch Dealer eddieo?

Surely you are, with every other post it's you banging on how good Bosch drive bikes are and how Panasonic's are 'old fashioned' 'had their day' not a patch on Bosch etc. Have you ever had a Panasonic?

Eddie....come down to Whitstable and try these BH Emotion Xenion bikes, there's a nice motorhome pitch by the sea close to the factory....I usually buy our customers a slap up lunch halfway through the ride-an ice cream on Herne Bay seafront!...pick a nice day I enjoy the ride along the seafront...promise I won't sell you anything less than £2k.

My granny had one...I tried it and feel asleep, to dangerous for me!

God talk about shoot the messenger....In all seriousness all I am doing is before you commit to a new bike is to make the effort to at least try one, before making a decision that is all.

Interesting thread. It's a good job we are all different and look for different things in our bikes isn't it!

I tried alot of bikes before plumping to change my 2+ year old Wisper for a Panasonic powered BH Emotion Sport. I chose the bike because the range, price, light weight and proven Panasonic system suit my requirements - whereas other bikes no doubt fit in with what other people are looking for

I guess what I'm trying to say and what this proves is that it's horses for courses and be clear on what you want the bike to do and then try as many as you can. Your budget maybe £2k, but you may find a bike that costs half that more than meets your needs!

Above all - have fun!
